TREATMENTS

Aesthetic Dentistry

Aesthetic dentistry is a field of medicine that aims to ensure that the individual is healthy and has an aesthetically beautiful smile. Aesthetic dentistry, which combines different techniques in itself, supports individuals to have a beautiful smile with the aesthetic dental treatment options it offers, regardless of children and adults. Which treatment the patient needs is supported by the doctor as a result of mutual discussion.

Aesthetic dentistry It supports the patient's appearance with cosmetic applications that are suitable and naturally designed. Aesthetic dental treatmentBefore the treatment, the patient's opinion and wishes are noted and the functional and biological aspects are examined. During this treatment process, the dentist works on the color, shape, position, size and general appearance of the patient's teeth.

The way the treatment is performed varies according to the treatment application applied to the patient. After the patient's needs are determined by the dentist, treatment procedures begin in accordance with the problem. These applications include different techniques such as whitening, composite laminate, porcelain laminate, full porcelain crowns, zirconium teeth, gum shaping, orthodontics. It combines them when necessary.

Aesthetic dentistry applications are performed in cases where dark colors occur in the teeth, fracture of the front teeth, gingival recession, teeth are not suitable for lip and facial aesthetics. It is possible to detail aesthetic dentistry applications as follows:

  • Whitening (bleaching)

It is preferred in case of dark stains on the teeth. You can choose the degree of whitening you want between 2-9 shades according to your teeth whiteness. There are two different applications as home and office whitening. The first application is applied at home on your own with the instructions of your dentist. After taking the measurements of your mouth and preparing the appropriate dental plaque, you place the medicine in the plaque and place it in your mouth when you go to bed at night. You can apply this from 1 week to 10 days depending on the result you want. In the office teeth whitening system, blue light is used to increase the effect by applying medication on the gums. After repeated sessions, your teeth reach the whiteness level you want.

The teeth whitening procedure, which is among the aesthetic dental treatment options, is temporary. Depending on how you take care of your teeth, it can provide an effect for up to 7 months. To maintain the whiteness of your teeth, you should continue with the procedures your dentist tells you to follow at home. You should avoid black-colored foods and drinks for a while, brush your teeth regularly and pay attention to your oral hygiene.

  • Veneer (composite and porcelain laminate)

Lamina is an aesthetic dental treatment application made on quality material. Lamina porcelains are used to correct and change the color and position of the front teeth applied by the doctor using special bonding techniques. Laminates imitate natural teeth. Lamina application has 3 stages as impression taking, rehearsal and bonding session. Before the lamina application, the patient is photographed. After the impressions are taken, the ceramist makes a 3D design of the teeth. After this 3D design, i.e. "wax-up" is applied in the patient's mouth, it is presented to the patient without any procedure. If the patient likes the design, the application is started. The advantage of lamina porcelain application compared to others is that tooth cutting is done less. Sometimes your doctor can even prepare lamina without the need for tooth cutting. Lamina porcelains can be used for 15-20 years hanging from the person's care. There are differences between porcelain and composite laminates. Compared to composite fillings used in the front teeth, porcelain laminates are used as a result of the loss of material in the teeth. Porcelain laminates are brighter and hardly stain. If the composite laminate is colored faster than the other, it is repaired faster when broken compared to porcelain filling.

  • Zirconium teeth

Dental veneers made in the form of porcelain veneers are of two types: metal-supported and non-metal-supported. In metal-supported veneers, a metal alloy is placed under the porcelain. Chromium-cobalt or chromium-nickel alloys are used for this. In zirconium-supported porcelain, zirconium alloys with white color are used. Zirconium, which is a metal-free veneer, gives a more natural look to the patient's smile compared to metal-free veneers. Before the procedure, impressions are taken from your teeth for the prosthesis and temporizers are made to eliminate the sensitivity on the tooth surface. Then, the suitability is checked with the infrastructure rehearsal made especially for you. Zirconium veneers are aesthetic compared to metal-supported veneers, compatible with the human body, do not cause allergic reactions, and prevent the formation of dark alignment in the gums as they have a white color. Zirconium veneers, which are among the aesthetic dental treatments, can be applied to everyone because they do not show allergic reactions. In general, the lifespan of zirconium veneers is between 5-15 years.

  • Full porcelain crowns (bridges)

This aesthetic dental treatment is applied to teeth with position disorders, dental problems in need of restoration, tissue disorders due to birth, intermittent tooth alignments, teeth with physical and chemical abrasion. Before full porcelain crowns are made, it is examined whether the patient's dental and oral health is suitable for porcelain veneers. Intraoral and facial photographs are taken, the person's dental measurements are taken and appropriate smile design is done. Full porcelain crowns are applied to the patient under local anesthesia. It is preferred because of its comfortable application and use. This treatment does not harm gum health, does not cause bad breath, gives the chance to shape the tooth as desired, and gives fast results. Full porcelain crowns, which are extremely resistant to abrasion, have a brighter surface.

When it comes to aesthetic dentistry, smile design comes to mind. For various reasons, the appearance of the teeth may deteriorate aesthetically. Since this causes discomfort to people, they hesitate even to laugh in human environments and experience anxiety. Smile design is considered a completely necessary procedure for these people. At this time, many procedures are applied together and the patient's aesthetically desired tooth design is created. The procedure is based on the patient's gender, facial features, age and expectations. Measurements are taken from the patient's mouth and plans are established and presented to the patient and the procedure is started.

  • Gum contouring

This aesthetic dental treatment is also known as "Gingivectomy". It is a treatment method used in cases where the person's gums appear too much due to the short length of the teeth, in other words, "Gummy smile" and the gums are asymmetrical. The cause of this situation is related to congenital conditions. Gingivectomy starts with the use of plaques and stones. After the patient's teeth are cleaned, the teeth are numbed with anesthesia. Special surgical instruments are not used in gingivectomy. Devices such as laser and cautery can be used to shape the gums. After the procedure, a protective bandage is placed over the gums.

  • Chin Botox

This aesthetic dental treatment is also called masseter botox. The masseter muscle is a strong chewing muscle located on the side of the jaw area. When this muscle becomes visible to the people around, it causes masseter hypotrophy, i.e. masseter enlargement. The most common cause of this is teeth clenching and grinding. Chewing a lot of gum and consuming hard meat are also included in this list. In chin botox, thinning procedures are performed in the part where the masseter muscle is located. Botox is a safe application as it does not require surgical interventions. As a result of chin botox, jaw clenching and teeth grinding disorders are eliminated and a thinner and more prominent jaw line is achieved.

Choosing a dentist is very important before aesthetic dental treatment. A specialist aesthetic dentist should be chosen and the doctor's cases should be examined. Before the treatment, the patient should clarify exactly what he needs and what bothers him. He should discuss all his demands with his doctor and follow the treatment method in accordance with his advice.

Having tooth and gum problems affects the mental state of the person from time to time. For this reason, no special criteria are required for individuals to have aesthetic dental treatment. Anyone who has dental problems, who is dissatisfied with their smile or who wants to make their smile more beautiful can have dentistry applications with the doctor's guidance and control. There is no special limitation for this.
