These problems must be solved first. In the first stage of treatment, the current position of the teeth and how they may change over time are assessed. This stage usually consists of taking x-rays, making plaster models and taking photographs of the teeth. Based on the results of these, the patient is given a treatment plan. This stage may suggest more than one way to treat the dental problem. It decides on the type of braces to be used according to the patient's age and the treatment required. In the treatment, appliances are used to correct the position of the teeth. The orthodontist uses a range of medical devices, including headgear, aligners and braces.\u00a0<\/p><p>Braces consist of wires, bands and brackets. The bands wrap around the teeth and are carefully fixed around them. Brackets are usually attached to the front of the teeth. Braces are also available in both transparent and colored versions. If the patient's teeth are too close together and this causes them to bend or overlap, some teeth may need to be removed as part of the treatment.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p><p>There are four basic types of orthodontic treatment.
